Book before the urgency, when you can.
The hardest calls we get are the ones where a family waited. If a parent is going into surgery next week, or hospice has started talking about getting affairs in order, that is the moment to schedule, while the signer is rested, clear, and able to sign comfortably.

Can you notarize if the signer is confused or sedated?
No. Virginia law requires the signer to understand what they are signing and to sign willingly, and that protects your family from the document being challenged later. If there is any doubt, we visit when the signer is at their clearest, often earlier in the day.
Can you prepare the will or power of attorney for us?
No. Only an attorney can draft or choose legal documents for you, and a notary who tries is breaking Virginia law. Have your attorney or your document service prepare the papers, then we handle the signing, the witnesses, and the seal. More on our page about what a Virginia notary cannot do.
Can family members be the witnesses?
Sometimes, but a witness who inherits under the will is a bad idea and some documents restrict who may witness. The safe route is neutral witnesses, which is exactly why we arrange them for you in advance.
How soon can you be at the hospital?
Mark your request urgent on the booking page and we treat it that way. Same-day bedside visits are often possible in Suffolk and the nearby cities, depending on the day's schedule.
